Hello,

I'm trying to install Proxmox 8.3, but the installer freezes. I am using the following hardware:
I've tried the "nomodeset" fix to no avail.

I've removed the "quiet" kernel option to get debug messages and the installer seems to stop after the following line:
ipmi_si: Trying ACPI-specified kcs state machine at i/o address 0xca2, slave address 0x20, irq 0

After a few minutes of the above message showing, the following error displays:
do_init_module+0x97/0x290
load_module+0x213a/0x22a0
init_module_from_file+0x96/0x100
? srsso_alias_return_thunk_0x5/0xfbef5
...
...
</TASK>

I have tried adding this to the linux boot command in the installer:
nomodeset modprobe.blacklist=ipmi_si

I still get the same error as above (ipmi_si, then after a few minutes the same error message):

Anyone know of a solution or something else I can try to resolve the issue? Searching past posts seems to indicate that at least one person has Proxmox running on the same motherboard above, but no mention of this particular error, unfortunately.

Thanks.

UPDATE:
While waiting for this thread to be approved, I figured out a solution. In the UEFI, I went to Server Mgmt->BMC Tools and then I set the KCS state after post to disabled. This allowed the GUI and TUI installers to run without any custom linux kernel options.
