Hey there Proxmox users,
I recently came across the wonder that is Proxmox, and set it up on a server I had it running perfect. I had to migrate the server to another server, but have not been able to get the system to boot whenever I install the proxmox kernel on the second system.
At this point, my original system has expired and will be deleted within 24 hours at some point and so I can't do another complete system reinstall or else I will lose my vm images which are a few years in the making and my house is suffering from speeds slower than 25mbps right now so it's not plausible to download the vm files.
It's an OVH hosted facility, so when the disk fails to boot I'm able to boot it into a recovery system and manually mount the /dev/md2 FS where the OS is installed (Debian 8 and then performed the Jessie instructions in the Proxmox guides).
What would you guys recommend for diagnosing the cause of the issue when there is no /var/log/boot.log and the dmesg file is 0 bytes in filesize (open during the crash and didn't get written?)?
Any help would be much appreciated as I've tried everything I could think of, ranging from reinstalling the entire OS (it dies after rebooting after installing the new kernel and running update-grub), I've tried installing older PVE kernels and specifying those in the grub after chroot'ing to the /mnt...
Thanks in advance!
