Unable to boot after first install - grub error.

I've done a new install of PBS 3.2-1 on a server using a DVD. The installation all went ok, didn't see any errors. After the install I removed the DVD as per the wizard and on first boot I get a grub error - no such device.

I've tried re-installing and get the same error.

I've got 2 SATA drives - a 500GB and a 2TB drive. Installed PBS to the 500GB drive.

Any ideas why this is occurring?

I can't get into the system so can't see any logs files.

Take a look at your UEFI and BIOS boot settings. If you don't have a reason to do UEFI, it might be easier to do BIOS.

Run the install again, paying mind to anywhere it prompts you for UEFI or BIOS selections.

Thanks. After spending hours trying different settings, different hard drives I eventually gave up on the hardware and tried another server I had lying around and it worked perfectly.

Must be some older incompatible hardware causing it.
