NIC: onboard Realtek RTL8111GR Gibabit
Video card: ASUS EAH5450

During the install of 5.0, at the stage where it detects a DHCP server, it seems to not be able to find the DHCP server and skips the steps. I manually enter in the IP information.
Once install is complete. I have no network access. I cannot ping the gateway or google.com. I can ping the system's own IP though. All networking lights are lit. Cannot access web interface (obviously) from an external browser.

Network card shows up as in /etc/network/interface
iface enp10s0 inet manual

I suspect this is a network driver issue with 5.0. Reinstalled 5.0 three times, same issue.

When I Install a fresh 4.4, everything works fine. So looks like some networking driver issue with 5.0.

When I perform an In-place upgrade from the 4.4 install, networking works fine. Network interface remained as eth0 though.

Anyone experiencing issues with similar to this or know how to upgrade the drivers or files with no network acess?

What is the output of
ip link show dev enp10s0 ?

it should display somewhere LOWER_UP if the physical link is active ( ie Ethernet is connected)

I have since upgraded from 4.4, so I do not have that information available anymore. Upgrade from 4.4 to 5.0 works. Network access of fresh install of 5.0 does not work.

I have another system that has the same configuration that I can do a fresh install if you would like this week.
