Two VM. Can't copy a virtual disc to other

Hey...


Well i have 2 VM in proxmox and ones of them i made like a backup of some files... but the problem of that machine is than it not have internet connection... is like not resolved his ip... so we make a new VM and its working now, but we can't like copy that virtual disc of the machine 1 to the machine 2... how can we copy the backup??? anyone knows something ???

The machine 1 has no internet connection but it had the virtual backup

The machine 2 has internet connection and its ready for accept the backup


How can we move the backup from machine 1 to machine 2 ?

What I mean is what storage back-end are you using for the VM's, is it a simple RAW/QCOW2 file ontop of a filesystem or are you using LVM for example?

in the Photo which i edited in the last comment, the 20GB disc is the one which has the backup files

Hello,

Your need to manually edit the QEMU file to add this disk to the new VM.


1/ Make sure both VM's are shutdown
2/ In SSH go to : /etc/pve/qemu-server
3/ "cat 105.conf"
3/ Select and copy the line containing "vm-105-disk-2"
4/ "nano 123.conf"
5/ Paste the copied line into the 123.conf below the current disk line, make sure that both are using separate ide* numbers
6/ Save the config and start the VM from Proxmox, you will then need to manually mount the new partitions showing in /dev
