Hi,

I'm fairly new to Proxmox VE and Backup but so far have been really impressed. I currently have a Ubuntu Server VM which is running the Proxmox Backup Client and sends a backup to BPS to the datastore "SSD" without error. I'm then able to perform a backup to tape from the "SSD" datastore to LTO5 tape without error also.

As your backups is only as good as your last restore... I have deleted the entry for the host VM under "SSD" datastore and then perform the restore of the host VM from tape. I have tied formatting this tape a couple of times and performing the back up followed by a restore and each time get the below error.

Just wondered if I'm doing something wrong or if there is anything I need to make sure is ticked etc.

Code:

what drive and or hba/controller do you have?

a transport error indicates something wrong with the transport, iow. the drive/cable/controller

there is a thread (i cannot find it at the moment) where for some it was necessary that the library they used were plugged in with both connections (that the library had) to work properly (we did not find out why though)
