Transitioning backups to new PBS

Hi,

I have an PVE + PBS setup running with no problems. Now I'm planning to make a "soft transition" to a new PBS.

I'm adding the new PBS to PVE, creating new backup jobs point to this new PVE and disabling the backup jobs that are point to the old PBS.

After some time, I will shut down the old PBS and live only the new one.

Do you see any problems or risks with this strategy? For example, some data left on the old PBS (like virtual machine manifest) because the system thinks that this info was already backed up?

Hey,

you could just sync the the data from the old to the new PBS. PVE knows what storage contains what backups, if you have a new PBS, for PVE this is a new storage for backups. It knows which backups are on the old, and which are on the new one.
