threadripper 2000 series proxmox stuck on loading ramdisk

My home lab setup is a Threadripper 2970WX with 128 GB of RAM, two Samsung SATA SSDs, and one Samsung M.2 SSD where I planned to install Proxmox. The board is an ASUS X399-A with the BIOS updated, CSM and Secure Boot disabled.
I have the same problem where Proxmox gets stuck right when it says “loading initial ramdisk” at the beginning. It happens even when I try to install it from a fresh USB. I already tried modifying the boot script, but no luck. At this point I’m open to any ideas or suggestions.

Edit the grub boot line and take out " quiet " - this will give you more info

FYI if you know the server's IP address you may still be able to access the proxmox GUI even if the boot process doesn't get to tty1 - YMMV

What you are seeing is a very early hang during initrd load on the Proxmox installer, and since it happens on both Proxmox 9.x and 8.x across multiple identical Supermicro H13 systems, it strongly suggests a firmware or compatibility issue rather than a bad ISO or USB stick. With H13 boards (which are AMD EPYC 9004 Genoa/Bergamo platforms), there are known quirks with certain Linux installers due to kernel/firmware interactions, especially around early EFI handoff. A few things you should try: first, when booting the installer, edit the GRUB line and append nomodeset noapic to the kernel...
