Both CephFS and RadosGW running on Proxmox, but to be honest RGW is still a work in progress, it's not accessible yet. I'll probably write a post on how to get that working when I've managed to get it working.
The reason for this is that I want all my computers to have access to the Ceph storage as if it was a regular folder.
As far as I know these are the options to get that to work:
1- Use CephFS and mount the FS directly on each client.
2- Use CephFS and mount the FS on a Samba server and have Samba share a network folder.
3- Mount the Ceph cluster directly into Samba using Samba VFS Ceph, this is very poorly documented and files are missing in some distributions, or the entire VFS is not compiled into Samba, etc.
4- Use RGW and have NFS-Ganesha share a NFS over the network.
1 isn't really an option when you start taking into account mobile phones and tablets.
3 isn't even an option at this moment, I looked into it but there just isn't enough documentation to know what's going on.
2 and 4 should give pretty much the same result and I want to try both to see which one works best for me.
