Thin Provision Configuration

I've attached NFS storage with Proxmox server, I can create virtual machines and use NFS as a storage space but how to configure Thin Provision. Like ESXi, there are no GUI functions under ''create Virtual Machine'' to change it thick or thin.



I can see proxmox server hard disk as a thinpool data under ''cat /etc/pve/storage.cfg'' but my NFS is not like that:



This is what I can see under proxmox node disks:


Under proxmox node > LVM-Thin I tried to create Thinpool but my NAS storage is not showing.

Thin provisioning depends highly on the used storage technology. LVM-Thin, ZFS can only be used on local disks as they need to be formatted that way. If you use NFS, the disk images are stored as files. Choosing the right format gives you thin provisioning -> qcow2. See https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/chapter-pvesm.html#_thin_provisioning
