The current guest configuration does not support taking new snapshots

Why does creating an LXC container with local-lvm allow for snapshots, while choosing other NVMe disks prompts the message "The current guest configuration does not support taking new snapshots"?
How to resolve this issue?

How are the NVMe disks partitioned and what storage type is on them?
I suppose it isn't LVM-thin?
