thaw and snapshot

Hi, i have problem with a VM (Windows 20019 with SQLServer)
Proxmox 8.1.4 6.5.11-8-pve
Windows 2019 datacenter with virtio 0.1.248 and all updates until 20240717

VM get unrensponsive while backup ( thaw and unthaw), so i decided to use
Freeze/thaw guest filesystems on backup for consistency on Options

this solve the problem, i could accept some data loss in case of recover so its ok.

I used to make automatic snapshot every 30 minutes so in case of problem
time recovery is better than restore from PBS (i continue of course to do PBS backup)
BUT snapshot that i create with command

pvesh create /nodes/XXX/qemu/YYY/snapshot -snapname ZZZZ -vmstate 0"

has same problem, i would like to know if its possible to pass a parameter to skip thaw while snapshot aka "Freeze/thaw guest filesystems on backup for consistency" on backup

Hi,
unfortunately, the existing flag is only for backup. Disabling it for other operations is not implemented yet. Feel free to open a ticket on the bugtracker referencing this thread: https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/

hi Fiona, i did some experiment and revert driver back to virtio-win-0.1.229.iso had resolved all troubles :O
