Hello all,

In checking my log for an error condition I ran into I saw some entries that I do not know about. Can someone help?

1) Unknown kernel command line parameters "BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-6.8.8-2-pve pci_pt_e820_access=on", will be passed to user space

2) i915 0000:00:02.0: Direct firmware load for i915/gvt/vid_0x8086_did_0x3e92_rid_0x00.golden_hw_state failed with error -2

3) pve01 networking[689]: warning: enp1s0f0: interface not recognized - please check interface configuration
Jul 06 18:15:02 pve01 /usr/sbin/ifup[689]: warning: enp1s0f0: interface not recognized - please check interface configuration
Jul 06 18:15:02 pve01 networking[689]: warning: enp1s0f1: interface not recognized - please check interface configuration
Jul 06 18:15:02 pve01 /usr/sbin/ifup[689]: warning: enp1s0f1: interface not recognized - please check interface configuration
Jul 06 18:15:02 pve01 networking[689]: warning: enp1s0f2: interface not recognized - please check interface configuration
Jul 06 18:15:02 pve01 /usr/sbin/ifup[689]: warning: enp1s0f2: interface not recognized - please check interface configuration
Jul 06 18:15:02 pve01 networking[689]: warning: enp1s0f3: interface not recognized - please check interface configuration
Jul 06 18:15:02 pve01 /usr/sbin/ifup[689]: warning: enp1s0f3: interface not recognized - please check interface configuration

I hope I do not have issues.

Steve

The first two I can't help you with, but the third one might be a small (non-damaging) configuration issue in your network-settings, possible from an older or (automatically) renamed network-interface.

Please post the output of these two commands
Code:
ip a
cat /etc/network/interfaces

Yeah, those enp1s0fX devices are no longer attached to your physical system, from reading your other topics they are most likely from your secondary card that you're passing through to OpnSense, so you should remove the lines with "auto enpXXX" and "iface enpXXX"
You can either manually edit the file, or go to the GUI and click the 4 devices one by one and click delete at the top to remove them from the config that way.
If in the future the card is re-added / made available again, they will automatically be re-added (at most by just making a single change in the GUI like a description and saving)

Hmm thats interesting...as I thought they needed to be there for SRIOV and virtual function devices to show up.

Since you're passing the devices on to your VM, you wouldn't want the proxmox-system itself to be using them.
That said though, I haven't messed around with PCI-Pass-through too much, so your mileage may vary, so you could also just ignore the messages and leave them be, your choice.
