sync backups via rsync

Hello.
I have the following storage configuration on my proxmox backup server:
- local storage BackupStorage
- remote storage RemoteBackup
VM backups are made on BackupStorage and then rsync takes them to RemoteBackup.
BackupStorage storage broke, I had to replace it.

VM Backups started to be made again on BackupStorage and chunks started to be written to directories starting with 0000.

Will old backups on RemoteBaсkгp storage break if rsync adds new backups to its contents with old ones?

you need first rsync RemoteBackup to BackupStorage without deleting option.
btw, there is an integrated "Sync" function directly in Proxmox Backup Server, which RemoteBackup pull data from BackupStorage.

The built-in synchronisation is not suitable, because in this case you cannot set up backup rotation on the remote storage differently from the backup rotation on the local storage
