Switch VM from UEFI to BIOS?

Hi,

So I installed Windows into a VM with UEFI - because I thought this would be overall "better".

Now I found out that with UEFI, I can't switch the VM's screen resolution inside the VM but have to do that in the UEFI at boot time (for the next boot) - at least for VNC purposes.

That is inconvenient and so I would like to switch to Seabios. Is that supported? How can

Please note, that with the changes you are trying to make, you will probably need to re-authenticate your Windows OS, (assuming it was already authenticated), as Windows will detect a major HW change.

In any event - make sure you've got a proper restorable backup before you proceed with any changes.

Backup isn't a problem - thanks to PVE and PBS ;)

But if there isn't a tried way of switching to BIOS, I won't bother because fixing hundreds of issues will take longer than simply reinstalling the OS and the software on it.

Assuming you have a full & restorable backup of the VM (test it before proceeding!) - then changing the BIOS settings etc. in the VM should be a walk-in the-park. If the VM gets messed up - just retore it to its original working state from backup.
