suspend vms on host shutdown?

Hi there, we are planning to migrate to proxmox with paid support on a few servers that we have.
The only feature that we really need is suspending (pause) the vm while the host reboots for kernel updates.
Shutting down is not an option atm for us (it's not shutting down vms properly anyway) so we would like to pause the vms like libvirt does.
Is that posible somehow?
