Strange boot behavior inPVE 7

I noticed some strange behavior I don't have an answer to.

When I boot PVE 7 the screen keeps hanging / freezing at "/dev/mapper/pve-root: clean, XXX files, XXX blocks".
I don't get a login screen or any other messages.

But I can use the Web GUI, login via SSH and start VMs and so on as usual.

Does anybody have the same problem or know, why this happens?

are you doing GPU passthrough to a VM?

It started when I tried to set up IOMMU with pci passthrough for AMD gpu on my Intel board

when you're setting up IOMMU you probably blacklisted the video drivers for your host (since the VM needs to take the device) -- if your motherboard has only a single GPU then this is expected behavior
