I normally store my VMs on an NFS share on a NAS. Sometimes I need to do maintenance on the NAS (firmware upgrade, or other). When that need arises I move the VM disks to a ceph pool, perform NAS maintenance, then move them all back to the NAS.
Question - is there any advantage to NOT delete the source on the NAS when I move the disks to the ceph pool? Does it make moving them back faster?
I have backups of all VMs, so am not worried about deleting the source per se, I just wasn't really sure if there were benefits to not deleting it if I was just going to move it back to the NAS in an hour.
Thanks!
