Hi,

My proxmox 6.0 installation crashed (usb stick) and is non-booting. I have now started up a fresh proxmox 6.1 install. Although, my lxc machine .conf files are gone I still have access to the subvol-disk-0 files/directories which were stored on a seperate zfs drive.

How can I spin up the container/disk?
I tried to create a dummy container, and once the .conf file was created for the dummy I replaced the name for the subvol-disk for the actual disk name. However, the machine failed to start. Is this the way to bring up my container image? Or is there another way to do this?

Thanks.

This is a non-supported setup. USB is just not suited.

What is the error message? And maybe you can grab the config files from the old installation?

For simple CTs this could work, you just need to ensure the ostype is correctly set, if you created the dummy CT from a similar template like the original was the chance of working would be higher.

Thanks for your replies. I managed to recreate the conf file for my container disks and managed to spin up the container images. It took a little trial and error to create a dummy config and then substituting the disk entry in the conf file. In the end I got it working.
