Hi everyone, which way do you think is the best to insert these containers?1(sonarr,lidarr,radarr,qbitorrent) all in one container2 (sonarr, lidarr, radarr) in one container and qbitorrent in another3 all in different containers4some other configuration.
thanks

Hi,
I prefer having a single service per container. If the service fails, there is just one container containing the problem and it is easier to rebuild it (or use a backup) without disrupting the other services. Same for updates or in the case a service shall be replaced by a different approach.

thanks and what about the proxy/vpn do you have to use it to use these types of services?

What is your idea for usage of proxy and/or vpn?
If you need secure remote access, use a vpn.
The containers will need access to the internal/external network. Tools like OPNsense provide the means for filtering traffic and securing network access. Just use it within another container.

Maybe I'm wrong but with torrent downloads wouldn't it be better to mask my public IP address? I'm approaching this world and I don't want to create a possible problem for myself in the future

So you want to tunnel the traffic somewhere else to anonymize your traffic, right?
OPNsense supports different types of vpn.

The way you can set it up is to connect the VM/container to a private network and have a router or proxy (like OPNsense or a proxy container) direct all traffic over VPN. This isn’t specific to Proxmox, I do it in Docker.

let's say that first of all I want to safeguard my PVE server and to do this I bought a mikrotik router connected to the ISP router to have a larger and more manageable firewall. where to only allow some things to pass through, yesterday I added 2 rules that block forward udp and tcp traffic in the qbittorrent ip address, I still have to test them but in theory I would be able to block shares of my finished torrents.
regarding your question "So you want to tunnel the traffic somewhere else to anonymize your traffic, right?
" As a completely inexperienced person, I would tell you yes, but I don't know if it's something that MUST be done or if it's recommended to do it. And I wrote precisely because I wanted some advice.

The Mikrotik should be enough for a firewall.
Not sharing should be configured in the client, the firewall rules described might block the download too.
For anonymization you will need a vpn service which allows P2P and does not keep logs of your activities/traffic.

I won't condem, what you are doing with the torrents, but I won't support this any further either.

for now and I think also in the future I doubt I will download illegitimate things. but seeing almost every tutorial on YT suggest the use of a proxy or a VPN, I wanted to better understand why this was the case and if I needed it to download legitimate things, I wanted to set everything up correctly right from the start. Thanks for the advice!
