Hello, very green proxmox attempter here. When I do apt update it is very slow and there are some "temporary failures". I have no idea what to set my DNS to and I'm not able to ping 8.8.8.8. I'm currently able to ping anything in my local network. I appreciate your patience on this!

Speed is much faster now, I don't have a dns set in proxmox at this time and I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it.

*Edit*

I reinstalled it because I'm also having an issue with one of my HDDs and set my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 it is back to being extremely slow.

From what I'm seeing I'm not able to get out and my DNS settings are correct. I've changed my ip address and verified that it's not on my network and rebooted.

Did a fresh install running the debugger, changed my host name from something.name.local to name.local. Gateway to router ip, dns to 192.168.1.42 and everything works.
