[solved] storage migration failed: mirroring error - why?

live moving one of two disks on kvm, got
"TASK ERROR: storage migration failed: mirroring error: VM 310 qmp command 'block-job-complete' failed - The active block job for device 'drive-ide0' cannot be completed"

I've seen in forums this can happen, I will try offline, but what can cause this? I'd like to know before...

would be worth retrying (live), or if it fails it means it cannot work ?

for the records, I simply retried today and it worked.

still I would like to know what cause this...

I'm not sure why, but whenever I have this failure, if I do a live migration to another node in the cluster the storage migration will work (even if I immediately migrate the VM back to the original node).
