Hi,

Is there (kvm) snapshot and rollback functionality in proxmox? Or is that left to being done in the vm's monitor session?

How about openvz? I'm just dipping a toe in with openvz, so don't know if it has snapshot/rollback capability (perhaps by different jargon?)

thx,

yes

There is no such functionality in Openvz.

Can someone clarify? Can we actually have snapshots using KVM within Proxmox web interface?

Thanks Dietmar

zc1974: there's lots of ways to do the rollback/checkpoint/snapshot/more-jargon. Lots of flexibility. To the point of confusion.

I think the way that works through the virtual machine monitor is the savevm/loadvm/delvm/"info snapshots". I think that's part and parcel of the qemu system.

But, as I said, I'm new to this, so the above may not be the best way. Or even a good idea. Or may be totally bogus. Hopefully someone knowledgable will point to some relevant webpages.

But AFAIK that only works if you use at least one qcow2 image.
