I would like to roll my own appliances (linux|windows), by way of utilising a snapshot as my own template for further rollouts of appliances.
At the moment to manually implement this,
- I store these snapshots in a separate backup volume, so it doesn't get deleted accidentally or by auto-backup rotations.
- I rename the file to describe its status.
Ideally:
- These could be stored in the template/cache dir.
- Be able to put comments against the snapshot so I could at least describe what its a snapshot of or what staging it is at.
