smb VM in proxmox best Practise?

Hello

has nothing to do with Proxmox direct, except at the end should be added there!

I would like to have some share available to connect some Windows/MacBook/Linux.
some share should hold Music, Backups, Photos, some user should be able to add (RW) other only read (RO).

how it is easy to manage
should i have multiple smb FileServer, or one with a Big Disk?
how to manage the share and give the Spezial rights?

is there a easy tool which helps to Manage?

at this time i do it manualy over some QNAP / Drobo and FreeNAS!
Would be nice to define all inside from Proxmox or a Proxmox VM or more

Hi,
I would create the samba server in a Container.
There you can install OMV for GUI management.

@wolfgang thanks for your feedback, i just asking my self.
i would create a OMV 2.5 TB which would hold my Music and my DVD - a couple of backup later my pve will die ;-)
