So ive added an SMB/CIFS share to my proxmox, which is just a simple share on my qnap nas. all works great and i cant fault it.

However, i recently built a truenas server ( seperate physical dedicated truenas box - keeping storage seperate from compute! ) with more capacity and was planning to build a proxmox server shortly, but this simple task seems to be a challenge when trying to repeat the same steps ive done for my Qnap.

ive tried using truenas local accounts, both admin and root, even giving the datasets/shares full access to everything. ive also tried using my domain user accounts, which is what i also used with the qnap share.

has anyone else encountered a similar error below, or have any idea why truenas doesnt want to play nicely?
