Hi all,

Disclaimer I am still kinda new to this stuff, I have been in the IT world for 20 years but i am new to homelab and proxmox.

I have 2x r630 and 1x r730xd that i am using for homelab ha and nas for plex. The idea is to use a different PC with higher specs and GPU for transcoding, reading the movies from the 730 over 10gb to the high end pc with 10gb as well through a 10gb switch.

All machines have the 10gtek 10gb card in them and the cards work. But the transfer speeds inside of containers, vms, and speedtest-cli on proxmox shell are slow. Speedtest-cli shell reads 15mbs, vm/ct cap at 300mbs. I have tried with SSD and HD drives, the speed does not change.

These results are from transferring files over the network from a 10gb machine through a 10gb switch to the r630 with 10gb card.
Speedtest.net also returned slow download at 300mbs inside of a vm ubuntu firefox web browser
Ubuntu VM has the card as virtio, still 300 down.

When i upload an iso to the local directory in proxmox for VM creation, that actually goes fast.

I have tried in CT Debian, VM Ubuntu, and VM Win11, all the same results.

My router detects them as a 10gb connection.

Bios/Idrac on r630 are up to date.
Cards get full speed in normal win11 system

All in all, with a smaller movie, it works fine, but when i try to play my personal blueray rips that are full files and 50gb+ it constantly stops and buffers every 5ish sec.

Thank you in advance for any information and guidance y'all give me. I am always learning!!!
