When uploading an ISO to your host you have the option to save your poor local SSD and download direct. That's great. But why does it download glacially?

6hrs for Debian? I'm on 2GB Fibre.

Actually I tell a lie. I was SSH into the wrong host. I'm now on the correct host and it's just as slow. Crazy. Where can I figure this out?

Just tested with iperf3 and the machine is getting 10Gbps. Why would wget be so slow? It's on the same subnet and WAN as the other host.

I do not have this problem.
You are downloading from Uppsala University, SE.
Why? Where are you? Maybe find a different download host?

See my edit above. I have an identical machine that pulls the file in 60seconds. The slow host is also getting 10Gbs acreoss the LAN. There's nothing capping the speed limit. There should be nothing on my end slowing it down.

You see from my log, its not the GUI, and I'm halfway around the world from that download host.

You should probably be looking at network stuff.

Copied the file across the LAN from the (incorrect) other host in a few seconds. But I'd still like to know what's going on.

You see my posts? I know it's not the GUI as I eventually saw the same with wget - once I was SSH'd to the correct machine.

Speed test is fine...
