Hello,

I'm new to proxmox and have been experimenting with servers and setups. I have two separate installs of proxmox (v8) on small NUCs and a backup server on another NUC.

Can I back up both servers to the same backup? I haven't tried in case I break something!

I wanted to combine them into a single cluster with shared storage - from what I can see I need you can't have any services running on a new server when you combine it into a cluster. The idea was to back up server two, remove the VMs, then make the cluster and restore the VMs.

Any help is appreciated.

Keep in mind that you need at least 3 machines for a cluster. Either 3 PVE nodes or 2 PVE nodes + 1 other machine (dedicated PBS/NAS/Raspberry Pi or whatever) as a qdevice.
