Re me with my strange questions ...

On the wiki, i have seen that :

sheepdog: mysheepdogclustername
portal 127.0.0.1:7000
content images

Can we connect Proxmox to a remote sheepdog cluster volume with (like gluster) many IP adresses ?

Something like that for example :

sheepdog: mysheepdogclustername
portal 192.168.0.2:7000;192.168.0.3:7000
content images

Is it possible ?

no, I don't think it's possible.
check this:

you kvm is connected to sheepdog daemon (port 7000), which is gateway.
then this gateway redirect you to right sheepdog storage (can be local or remote, depend where the datas are located)

So if i understood :

If i have 2 servers with each Proxmox and 10 TB of local storage + 5 servers with each Proxmox and 4 TB of local storage and if i create a sheepdog volume with all, i will have 7 gateways with 40 TB potential storage.

Now if i only use the 5 (4 TB) Proxmox to run VMs, i will have 40 TB of storage for them without any problem.

Right ?
