Shared volume for configuration files of VMs

Hi!
Sorry, but I have not found any information about this.
Are there any reasons for why don't you want to do a shared volume for storing the configuration files of VMs? In this case if one of the nodes in cluster will be stopped, all of its VMs can easily be run on the other nodes without copying any files.
