Hello
Hi have a couple of Huawei Server both with oceanstore (4x FC 8gbps FC) and a couple of disk Array ( 4x FC 8Gbps)
There a way to share the disk storage array to be visible as only redudancy 1 disk space ( I want to assure a very high availability even in case of storage array broken)

[=============] server1 [=============] server2

---FC---FC--FC--FC- ---FC---FC--FC--FC-

[DDDDDDDDDD] Array1 [DDDDDDDDDD]Array2

rewrite after translations of JBOD acronims:)

Question is quite different.
i have 2 Server and 2 SAN. but i want to configure the 2 SAN as unique resources (JBOD? :) ) seen by two server as a single one.
Do you think is possible?
thanks

Sorry @francescoV , I am still a bit confused by the wording :-)

I'll take a stab at it:

If you have "serverA+SANa" and "serverB+SANb," you can, in theory, configure it so that both serverA and serverB can access both SANa and SANb simultaneously. Whether this is feasible depends on your servers' and SANs' connectivity capabilities and limitations.

For example:
  • If the setup uses Fibre Channel (FC), you'll need FC ports on the switch.
  • If it's FC direct-connected, an FC switch will be required. Or more FC cards.
  • If it's iSCSI, the setup is generally easier to configure.
  • For SAS, you'll need expanders to enable connectivity, if you use all the ports.
It would be helpful if you could provide more details about the brand/type of SAN and how it is connected.

Lastly, please note that this discussion is not directly related to the forum's product, Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE).

Good luck
