Setting TimeZone in Templates

The preferred way of setting the TimeZone inside a first boot setup file atleast from debian squeeze onwards is eg.,:

echo 'Asia/Kolkata' > /etc/timezone
dpkg-reconfigure --frontend noninteractive tzdata

Any dab exec equivalent to go into the Makefile?

Any roadmap for an interactive install of OpenVZ templates to allow user variables?
