Server resource templates (not OS templates)

Greetings all,

I have been working with Proxmox for a while and am really starting to like it. One thing I cannot find is the ability to create server resource templates (ie: gold, silver, bronze, etc) like I can do in the OVZ Web Panel. I would like to create the templates and be able to apply them to OVZ containers on the fly.

I want to start using Proxmox for our internal hosting needs, and some of our guys are not very *nix literate. Thus, I need an interface with easy OVZ controls (start, stop, apply different resource profiles, etc).

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

probably you should explain better: what is "( gold, silver, bronze, etc) like I can do in the OVZ Web Panel" ?

and btw, in proxmox, openvz containers are labeled as CT.

In OpenVZ, I can create resource templates based upon how much RAM, HDD, and CPU resources to give. For example:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gold Plan: "1GB RAM, 5GB HDD, 40 CPU ticks"
Silver Plan: "768MB RAM, 3GB HDD, 30 CPU ticks"
Bronze Plan: "512MB RAM, 2GB HDD, 20 CPU ticks"
...
...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gold Plan: "1GB RAM, 5GB HDD, 40 CPU ticks"
Silver Plan: "768MB RAM, 3GB HDD, 30 CPU ticks"
Bronze Plan: "512MB RAM, 2GB HDD, 20 CPU ticks"

in pve, there are KVM templates (full machines), and CT templates, atm. I think you could build your own templates, if you find nothing else...
for CT, you can bind a template image and use the API to deploy new CTs using that template, in some way... perhaps.

Thank you for the feedback. I was hoping there was a way to easily change the run-time resources like other OpenVZ tools. For example, in OpenVZ you can create different resource templates and apply them on the fly. I realize you can do the same thing in Proxmox, but you have to change each item individually. It would be nice just to get a drop-down box with the different resource templates instead of a dialog box with all the settings.

For what its worth, I am trying to find a good tool for my non *nix team members to easily spin up and manage OpenVZ CTs. Instead of them having to remember the "Gold" template settings (RAM, CPU, HDD), it would be much more efficient if they could just select the template from a drop down box.

Sorry if this sounds redundant, but I hope you get my point.

Thanks.
