Separate Nodes - same VMID, overwritten?

I have a PBS (fully updated) with 3 PVE servers. Two of my servers have VMIDs 100, 101 and 102 - but the hostname is different (PVE-02 and PVE-HA) running completely different solutions. It appears that when I look at my PBS server, which is doing backups at 02:00, 02:30 and 03:00 - the VMID is being overwritten? It appears that they are not all being kept. Is this a known issue?

Hi,

you cannot move the backup, you have to redo the backup to the correcte namespace.
The namespace is specified in your pbs setup on the storage settings.

You could also use a syncjobs to copy backups to the namespace you wish. Thanks to PBS deduplication it woudn't take extra space. Afterwards you could remove the backups you don't need there from them. You could also setup prune job to only run for a certain namespace. I recommend reading the manual, a lot gets clearer then.

I created these 2 'namespaces' - but nowhere do I see where I can move the existing backups, or re-do them and point to them. When I try and re-setup the backups, there is no option in the GUI to point to a namespace.

I appreciate the replies thus far, but none of this makes any sense. I created the namespaces, now how do I get the backups to go there?

Thanks - but as you can see -- there is no option for "NAMESPACE" in my system.
Try to Datacenter --> Storage --> Add: Proxmox Backup Server. There you can define several parameters, including the Namespace :-)
