Seeking Advice on VLAN Configuration for Proxmox, Home Assistant, and Docker Setup

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some advice on how to better organize my current network setup using VLANs in Proxmox. Here is my current configuration:

  • Proxmox Management IP: 10.187.212.55/22
  • Home Assistant IP: 10.0.2.50
  • Docker IP: 192.168.28.5
I would like to make the following changes:
  1. Move the Proxmox Management IP to a different VLAN (VLAN 25) and network (172.16.25.10).
  2. Move the Home Assistant IP to a different VLAN (VLAN 50) and network (172.16.50.10).
I only have one connection from my host to the switch and would prefer to handle everything via VLAN tags if possible. Additionally, I would like to configure a second physical port as a backup access point in case of an emergency.

Could anyone provide guidance on how to achieve this setup, and specifically, what configurations I need to apply to the ports on my Unifi router?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Kevin

My goal is to have all traffic from Proxmox, Home Assistant, and Docker tagged with their respective VLANs, while untagged traffic should be handled appropriately. I'm curious about best practices for this setup.

I'm not entirely sure how to handle VLAN tagging within Proxmox. Should I specify VLAN 50 for Home Assistant and VLAN 25 for Proxmox in their respective configurations? On the Unifi switch, should the native VLAN be set to something isolated?
