Greeting Gurus' --- newbie question here I'm sure of it ...
I'm going through a total server upgrade, replacing hard drives to a larger size, adding ram, and more hard drives; is it possible to
snapshot the entirety of my proxmox environment and image the new drives with it > if that makes sense ..
i understand exporting each vmd; but is it possible to ... basically, copy proxmox? upgrade... then redeploy an exact replica of what you had
deployed ,, if this is stupid feel free to roast the newbie... but thanks in advance.

If you have the VM storage totally separate from proxmox root, then you could clone the boot/root OS disk to a larger one and boot that after migrating the drives, or just keep the current boot disk and it should "see" everything on the new hardware. You should write down or take pictures of your current Storage and Network setup before migration.

I would move ALL the old hardware over and then use Virtual Machine / Hardware / Disk action / Move Storage after you get the Storage section setup with the new drives to properly migrate.

HOWEVER - nothing beats a good full backup, so do that as well in case you need to Restore to the new environment.
