Hi,

i want to migrate (offline) some VMs from PX 4 cluster to PM 5 cluster.
I was thinking od adding the same NFS share at the same time to both clusters.
Is there any reason not to do that?

I could do backup from PM 4 to the NFS share and then import backup on PM 5. Obviously I would shut down the VM for that.
Is there any problem with my logic?

Or we could reduce downtime by just moving the storage from PM 4 to NFS, shut down VM in PM 4 and then run it in PM 5 directly from NFS storage, then move it while running to local storage on PM 5.
However I do not know, how to create a new VM on PM 5 with the same conf as was / is on PM 4. Any hints would be nice.

For that specific purpose, no. Should work without any glitches.

Best way to backup, so no problem with that logic.

Configuration should be the same, so just move to NFS, copy the config to the other node, shutdown VM on first node, start on second node.
