Safe to live migrate a running VM that runs MS-SQL?

I currently use ZFS with replication between the nodes on the same cluster. Normally I never experienced any issues of moving an active VM between the nodes but have to wonder is it safe to do that when a VM is running MS-SQL? Or shouldn't matter long as it's not very busy VM and captures the RAM during migration?

I usually just shutdown the MS-SQL VM before moving it to another node to be safe.

I have other VMs running MySQL and PostgreSQL without issues with live migrations. Just curious about Microsoft SQL 2017.

Thanks.
