Hello

Is it possible to run LibreELEC without a real GPU?

According to this thread it works with vmware:
https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/4326-virtualbox-failed-to-start-xorg-is-your-gpu-supported/

I wonder if this would also work on proxmox because there is this option to use a vmware compatible display in the virtual machine.

So far it doesn't. Maybe i need to do some other changes.

I asked this at the libreELEC forum as well:
https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/2...-virtual-machine-without-real-gpu/#post175208

Kind regards

There is still the question how well video playback will workwithout a passedthrough GPU. At least here even 720p Youtube playback drops frames on my 32 Thread Xeon. Had to passthrough a GT710 to make any videoplayback watchable.

Hello, thanks for your responses, i was able to run it by setting the display to "VirGL".

Thank you very much and a happy new year!!
