route some traffic through another bond

Hello.

I have three identical servers, with three identical Proxmox installations, one of them is being used for storing the daily backups. So basically Server1 and Server2 create every night backups to a NFS share that is on Server3. So far so good.
Since the servers have 4 NIC's i was wondering if i could do this: connect directly NIC3 on Server1 to NIC3 on Server3 and NIC4 on Server2 to NIC4 on Server3 and have the backup be made through this direct connection. It would be somewhat faster and it would take some load off the switches and hence, the network. If need be i can put some extra NIC's into the servers and bond them, say make a bond with NIC5+6 on Server1 and directly connect it with cable to the bond NIC5+6 on Server3.
The direct connections would be on a different IP class, just to be on the safe side. The question is what needs to be done in order to force the system to do the backup using this direct connection and different IP class?
I hope my explanation makes sense.
Thank you.
