In the middle of testing Proxmox and just not have had the best luck, seems things want to work but just get inconsistent results. I have been testing different data store formats and the latest is lvm thin pool. I was testing directory last and I have one win11 vm and disk performance was abysmal so I redid things and created a large thin pool. Backed up my vm to a nfs share which was quick but after creating the thin pool and trying to restore the VM, pve hits the vm disk size and just sits there. There is no network traffic, the file and disks appear to have been created but status time increases but not sure what is actually doing. CPU is not really showing anything in top, so just not sure why its not completing and why its taking so long. Here is a screenshot of what I am seeing, the disk size is about 64g..

Before anyone says use ZFS, I tried that first. I have 2 4tb spinning rust disks and initially did zfs raid 1, did a backup locally to the ZFS partition and got a zfs kernel panic, that was enough for me. I've been using linux for a long time and haven't seen that happen in 20 years.
