Restore from Backup kills host

For some strange reason when restoring from a particular backup, this kills my entire host. All storage goes offline, vms become unavailable.

Any ideas? Always happens around ~50%. I have 2 identical HOSTS and this is a restore from a backup taken on a different HOST. All interfaces etc match.

Please share the backup log and /etc/pve/storage.cfg. Also check the system log during that time.

Look at iowait. If it is drastically higher than during normal operation limit the throughput for that backup/restore. Better to accept a longer duration that having crashes.
