hi team
So when i resize my VM disk datacenter->VM->Hardware->Hard Disk->Disk action-> resize (there are on local-lvm)
it apply inside my vm on sda1(add 100GB)
Code:
sda 8:0 0 102G 0 disk
├─sda1 8:1 0 101.9G 0 part /
├─sda14 8:14 0 3M 0 part
└─sda15 8:15 0 124M 0 part /boot/efi
Now when i do it with another disk (and add a disk under the VM) i tried with LVM & LVM-thin, it doesn't apply on my sdb1, someone know why? and how can i change that
Code:
sdb 8:16 0 6G 0 disk
└─sdb1 8:17 0 2G 0 part /test

Can you please clarify the question? Are you saying you resized the second disk from 2G to 6G?

Assuming that you did mean 2>6 resize, then it worked. The physical disk has been extended. The logical disk layout is unknown to the PVE/Hypervisor. Its management is up to the OS in the VM. You need to google for a guide on how to expand Partition/LVM/Filesystem and follow that inside your VM.
For example: https://www.redhat.com/sysadmin/resize-lvm-simple

Good luck

thx for the link ,sorry for my blurry question

I add a new disk to my proxmox host, then i have created a new LVM-thin (named perso)
then i add my new disk LVM-thin (perso) to my VM, go inside my vm-> create a new partition->format in ext4->mount it in /etc/fstab->shutdown my VM
i resized my new disk for my VM: datacenter->VM->Hardware->Hard Disk->Disk action-> resize (add 4GB)

but in my VM the new disk size doesn't apply automatically

when i do the same with the default proxmox local-lvm it apply automatically inside my VM sda1, i will like to have the same process for my new disk

hope it clarify

The direction I provided earlier is still the same. Assuming your disk increased from 2G to 6G, the size increase is already reflected based on your output. You now have to perform additional operations inside the VM. It never happens automatically.

Good luck

thx! it's clear now, i was confuse
So with cloud-init if you resize the partition in datacenter->VM->Hardware->Hard Disk->Disk action-> resize
the partition inside the VM sda1: / (is automatically resize)
