I'm thinking about buying a new node for my proxmox cluster, but i am running 2.1 and as everything is pretty stable - bar an issue with the SAN, i dont want to upgrade to 2.3 for a number of reasons.

is it possible to clone one of my existing nodes onto the new node using clonezilla, and then reseting the proxmox install? (change name, wipe out anything cluster related?)

any advice?

This should work as you expect it, I am interested in something similar (Ready to go custom configured proxmox images for new nodes).. I have not tested this but clonezilla does clone drives with LVM unlike Symantec's ghost.

If you get this done or if anyone else has got this done let me know. This is a topic of interest.
