renamed hostname

Some dev had renamed a host. Now on backup serveur there is a new backup with new hostname, but there is no past backups (there is , but with old name).
How can I consolidate old files with the new hostname ?

I tried to change the hostname and rebooted the server, everything works. How did you change the hostname?

backup works, no problem with that.
my question is about the console were I can see
+host/newname DATE yesterday
+host/oldname DATE many days before until yesterday

what if I need to restore an old file ? should I restore it using oldname ?

yes, alternatively, you can always explicitly give a custom backup-id to proxmox-backup-client with '--backup-id'
