Removing hyperconverged node

Hello,

I am in the process of upgrading my cluster, both from 7.4 to 8.2, but also to newer hardware.

I have added 2 new nodes to the cluster that previously was 4 nodes, so I have a total of 6 nodes right now. All nodes are participating in a Ceph cluster as well.

Ceph wise, I have outed the drives/OSDs that were on the original first node, pve01, and they were put "Down" after the cluster had rebalanced. I left this for 72 hours, just to be sure nothing was going to go wrong, and then I "destroyed" the OSDs. Ceph had to do a quick rebalance after that too.

Now I just need to remove this node, but my concern is that this was the first node where the cluster was originally created on. I see that you should be able to use pvecm delnode <node-name>, but I also see some forum posts about that not fully doing the trick, and the node is still visible in the cluster UI.

What is the recommended process to remove a Proxmox node from the cluster?

Cheers,
rjoensen
