Hello,

I have a VM running Ubuntu I wanna format this VM and install CentOS instead, I'm struggling to find out how to do that. I don't wanna delete the VM to keep the VM number sequence and not loss the list plus I don't wanna restart the whole server before creating a new one.

Your support is appreciated, thank you!

Add the CentOS installer ISO as a CD-ROM to the VM configuration, set the boot order to boot from it, then restart the VM. It should boot into the CentOS installer. From there it is basically the same as installing the first time except you'll have to delete the old partitions when you get to that point in the CentOS install.

Thanks for the help, I was able to find a solution. The thing when I changed the ISO from Ubuntu to CentOS and booted-up the installer of CentOS it's not recognizing the drives showing "Installation Destination (no disks selected)". It's not locating the drive which not allowing me to proceed with the installation, any help please?

It has been a while since I installed CentOS or Red Hat but IIRC if there is already an OS on the drive you have to go into the Destination screen and tell it to overwrite what's already there. It won't do it automatically.
