Hi,

does anyone know what these "Registered nosave memory" entries in my syslog mean?

a quick google of 'Registered nosave memory' says that it might have something to do with onboard GFX using it... if you have a look and compare the your syslog with other examples?

Where did you read that?

I thought it had something to do with Power-Management -> "PM:"

http://fixunix.com/ubuntu/327569-13...4031-mb-usable-but-only-3899-mb-memtotal.html

do you have any more info from the syslog file?

i've read a few other posts that say it could be due to hibernation/power management... have you disabled all the settings in BIOS for power management?

A few posts talk of BIOS updates fixing the issues too.

I'd check the BIOS for updates, disable all the power management settings then test the memory using MemTest86+ to eliminate the hardware.

the log files look fairly normal to me are youa ctually ahving any issues?

if you wanted to elimainate whether its the onboard gfx causing teh issue, try installing a dedicated GFX card and see if you still have the same messages?

I have no problems, but the message "nosave" seems to me strange.
That's why I wanted to know what it means.

A external graphics card I have not currently on hand.
