1. I upgraded directly from 7.1 to 8.2 and wanted to start a new virtual machine and install a new Centos system. However, I found that I couldn't create a new one because there were no selectable objects in the resource pool

2. There are no selectable objects in the resource pool, so I tried to create a new resource pool but found that clicking the new button did not respond

3. After searching for a long time, I couldn't find the answer to the problem, so I came to seek help
PS: The APT library has been updated to an 8. x library

I made that same mistake when first trying out Proxmox a few months ago. The UI makes it look like you need to choose something there, but you really don't. You can leave that field blank and move on to the important field (vm name) that does need filling out.
